So after all it seems that i got it right, didn't i ? Changing the red cluster with a white one...

First of all, if you don't have the right tools you can't do it yourself. It doesn't work with commander, because the white cluster has a different immo type. Red cluster is immo IV, white is immo IVc ("c" is from "challange"). That means that the PIN code of the immo changes everytime you interrogate the module.

So i suggest to do the operation the "easy way": immo off. It has been done before, maybe you can contact this guy directly (he is from Spain)
(skip directly to 2:50, that's where the cluster part starts, the rest is just bullshit)

Even so, the easy way is not that easy. You still need to change the ABS / ESP module in your 2005 Toledo 5P. Because the old one won't communicate with the new cluster. Even the ABS / ESP will work, the ABS / ESP pictograme in the cluster will stay permanently on and the buzzer in the cluster will bing continuously. Bing, bing, bing. It's like when you drive without the seatbelt on, except the bing won't stop. Mindfuck.
Wait, that's not it.. When changing the ESP unit, you need to change the connector and rewire it. And in your 2005 Toledo you need to change two of the brake lines (there are different fittments). And you need another bracket for the ESP unit, etc etc


I won't even go into details abot "the hard way" Different transponders in keys, some serious hardware and in-depth knowledge. Plus all about the ESP module. Give it up. It's safer. And cheaper, too...

In conclusion, it can be done. But it is expensive. 200- 300 eur for the cluster, 150- 200 eur for the ESP module, around 100 for the misc parts (brake line, brackets, wires, connectors etc). Plus some serious cash for the man doing the swap

Stay tuned, although. I'm doing this retrofit It's on my list. I'm gathering the parts as we speak.

Sorry for answering so late...

So.. The product in the link is compatible if you are upgrading the steering wheel as well (to the facelift version).
In order to upgrade to facelift cluster, you need the following items (list is not fully updated)

- first of all you need a new gateway. 1K0 907 530 AD or any version after this. You cand use 7N modules as well.

- cluster adapter . Il looks more or less like this one, for passat (but the pinout is not the same - so don't buy this one. The adapter must be made from scratch) http://www.carsystems.pl/plug-play-adap ... id309.html . If you don't want the adapter, you can modify the existing connector.

- the cluster itself. Check out ebay or other sites (segundamano or whatever).

- ABS / ESP module. The one on the car (rev K) is not compatible. You need a new generation. Any MK60EC1 unit will work. You can use 1K0 907 379 BL, if you are planning on retrofitting PLA system subsequently. Other PN compatible are 1K0 907 379 AT or BE or BJ.

- ABS / ESP module connector. The one on the car is not compatible.

- Brake lines for the front wheels

- Support and bracket for the ABS / ESP unit.

And of course, the skills of a good technician for doing all the work (realocating wires, changing units, brake lines, brake bleeding, coding etc)
